ARTICLE II — PURPOSE

The purpose of this association shall be:

To work for the welfare of students, the advancement of public education, and the improvement of educational opportunities for all.
To unify all employees eligible for membership so as to enable members to speak with a common voice on all matters of mutual concern and to represent individual and common interests of members.
To promote the general welfare of members, to advance educational standards and to establish and maintain good community relations.
To develop and promote continuing programs to secure and maintain better employment benefits, uniform personnel practices, professional preparation standards, sound retirement systems, and improvements in terms and conditions of employment.
To complement and supplement the New Jersey Education Association and the National Education Association.
To promote, encourage, and assist local associations in the county.
To stimulate interest in and community support for public education within the county.

Organization Profile The Gloucester County Education Association (GCEA) is comprised of over 7000 members from 36 educational locals within Gloucester County. Our membership includes both professional and support personnel. The GCEA is an affiliate of the New Jersey Education Association (NJEA) and the National Education Association (NEA).
Directions to the GCEA Office: From the North - Route 295: Take Route 295 south to Exit 24-B. Turn left onto Route 551 (Evergreen Avenue). Continue south through 3 traffic lights to circle. Proceed 2/3 the way around the circle onto Route 553 (Woodbury-Glassboro Road) south. Continue 1/4 mile. The West View Professional Campus will be on your right next to the Heritage's Store. From the North - Route 55: Take Route 55 south to the Wenonah-Pitman Exit 53-B. Proceed north (approximately 5 miles) on Route 553 (Woodbury-Glassboro Road) through 4 traffic lights into Woodbury Heights. The West View Professional Campus will be on your left just before the Heritage's Store. From the South - Route 295: Take Route 295 north to Exit 21. Bear right onto Route 534 (Delaware Street). Go east toward Woodbury. Delaware Street becomes Cooper Street (at first traffic light). Continue on Cooper Street to next traffic light. Turn right onto Route 551 (Evergreen Avenue) continuing through 1st traffic light to the circle. Proceed 2/3 the way around the circle onto Route 553 (Woodbury-Glassboro Road) south. Continue 1/4 mile. The West View Professional Campus will be on your right next to the Heritage's Store. From the South - Route 55: Take Route 55 north to the Wenonah-Pitman Exit 53-B.
